I believe in collaboration when it comes to therapy, working together to create a space where you can feel comfortable to be your authentic self. Safety and connection are hallmarks of my practice: providing and maintaining safety and connection with the self and others. My framework is rooted in humanistic/person-centered therapy and strengths based therapy. These frameworks recognize, celebrate and honour the unique qualities of each individual, work to empower you and support personal growth through self-awareness, acceptance and compassion.

As an art therapist, and eco-art therapist, I incorporate the art making process and accessing the natural world into the therapeutic process. Art making can offer you another avenue for exploring the issues and concerns that are bringing you to therapy, can help you to develop new skills, gain confidence and a sense of self-efficacy, and highlight your personal growth. Accessing the environment has been shown to effectively reduce stress, alter our perceptions of things, help with problem solving and focus, and help you to feel grounded in the present moment.

I work with children (8+), youth and adults who are experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety, self-esteem or image issues, emotional concerns, grief, stress and fatigue, identity and boundaries.

Thank you for considering me in your search for a therapist. It is my belief that the most meaningful therapy is grounded in the safety and fit of the client-therapist relationship. From the first point of contact, I endeavour to create a connection and to build a strong therapeutic relationship based on compassion, safety, and trust.

I strive to maintain a practice that is authentic, transparent, and honouring of the courage it takes to arrive in therapy. My approach is integrative and often draws from both person-centred and narrative methodologies, which allows the therapeutic process to be tailored to your specific needs. I strive to create a warm and inclusive space that fosters collaboration, discussion, and self-exploration.

I work with individuals (ages 8+) seeking support with a variety of questions or concerns including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships and attachment, self-esteem, stress, grief, anger management, identity, school refusal, ADHD and neurodiversity, chronic pain and illness, and identity. I am proud to be a connected and committed therapist, with lived experience as a transgender person, competent in serving the needs of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their allies.

I wish to engage you in co-creating an environment that invites a sense of empowerment, in sharing your stories, and the exploring of new considerations through self-compassion. It would be my privilege and pleasure to accompany you along your therapeutic journey.

I know the process of finding the right therapist can be daunting, and I want to thank you for taking the time to consider me! I take great effort to ensure I am a flexible and adaptive clinician that will work hard to meet the needs of any person I see. Some areas in which I feel I can provide a specialized level of care include: Working with adolescents and young adults, the LGBTQ2S+ community and their allies, issues of substance use, anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-image, communication, anger, relationships and identity. One of the most important things in my work is making sure those that I work with feel seen, safe and comfortable enough to explore what they need to in session so we can work towards making positive change. I place great value on openness, transparency and collaboration in my work – I want to make sure we’re both on the same page and we’re working collaboratively towards the same goals!

I have benefited from gaining experience in a variety of professional settings and roles in my career so far including community mental health agencies, treatment centers, a sexual health center and homeless-serving organizations. Some of the theories I use to ground my work include gender-affirmative, trauma-informed, person-centered, feedback-informed and strengths-based perspectives. I also utilize a number of therapeutic models to ensure I deliver the most effective evidence-based services including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing.

I am a proud Queer clinician who welcomes and celebrates the opportunity to work with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and identities. In my free time, I prioritize spending time with loved ones (especially my dog Benito!), getting outside to walk or run, visiting our family cottage, exploring the city, and enjoying down-time with a good TV show or video game. I look forward to connecting with you to discuss how I might be the right fit for your current therapeutic needs!
